Southwestern Illinois Networking Group (SWING) By-Laws Article X: Duties of Committees
Section 1: Program: Coordinate programs to be presented for the purpose of educating Democrats in the functions of and participation in the Democrat Party and the political process.
Section 2: Finance/Fundraising: Responsible for organizing and promoting fundraising projects undertaken by SWING.
Section 3: Campaign/Liaison: Coordinate volunteers to work in campaigns of candidates who support the purposes of SWING and issues; and coordinate activities of SWING in campaigns of Democratic candidates and for the Democratic party.
Section 4: Membership: Responsible for promoting membership in SWING and assisting the Treasurer in collection of dues and maintenance of membership records.
Section 5: Newsletter, Website and Public Relations: Responsible for publication and distribution of SWING newsletters and promotional materials; maintenance of the SWING website; and promoting communication with the news media, (i.e. newspapers, radio and television).
Section 6: Youth Outreach: Responsible for encouraging and promoting youth membership in SWING.
Section 7: All Committees shall report to the membership at each regular meeting of SWING. An annual report shall be submitted to the President at the Annual Business Meeting. Article XI: Amendments
Section 1: Method: These By-Laws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of members present at a general membership meeting or the Annual Business Meeting, provided the amendments shall be submitted to all members at least thirty (30) days prior to the meeting at which the amendments are to be voted upon.
Section 2: Effective Date: Amended By-Laws shall become effective immediately upon approval.
