Article VI: Officers and Directors
Section 1: Election Dates & Terms: In even-numbered years, SWING members in good standing shall elect at the Annual Business Meeting, the following Executive Officers: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Treasurer. Terms of office shall be two years.
Section 2: Vacancies: Vacancies in offices shall be filled by appointment based on a majority vote of the Executive Committee.
Section 3: Executive Committee Membership: The Executive Committee shall consist of a President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, and Chairpersons of each Standing Committee.
Article VII: Election of Officers
Section 1: Executive Officers shall be elected at the Annual business meeting and shall be deemed "officers elect" until assuming full responsibilities on January 1. "Notwithstanding the provisions of these bylaws, the initial election of officers will be held on March 6, 2008, at a general membership meeting called for the purpose of adopting by-laws and election of officers. Nominations shall be made by a Nominating Committee appointed by the Acting President. Additional nominations can be made from the floor by members in attendance. These officers will serve until the first Annual Meeting to be held in November.
